Phillimore Community Primary Celebrates 100 Years!
This year marks a momentous occasion for Phillimore Community Primary School as it celebrates 100 years since first opening its doors on 26th January 1925. A century of education, memories, and community spirit will be honoured through a series of special events planned throughout the year.
Children will have the opportunity to explore different periods of history from the past 100 years, deepening their understanding of how Phillimore has evolved over time. As part of the celebrations, the school will also focus on giving back to the wider community by raising money for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Crescent Moon and Snowflake Appeal, supporting both Ramadan and Christmas initiatives.
A special 100-Year Movie Night will be hosted for children, providing a fun and engaging way to raise funds for this meaningful cause. Later in the year, the annual Summer Fair will take on a centennial theme, bringing together families, friends, and community members for a memorable celebration.
As we look back on the school's rich history, we also invite past pupils and staff to a coffee morning in October, where they can reconnect and enjoy a slideshow presentation showcasing Phillimore’s journey over the years.
We warmly encourage anyone with stories, memories, or photographs from their time at Phillimore to share them with us. If you have something to contribute, please get in touch with the school office at office@phillimore.sheffield.sch.uk.
Let’s come together to make this milestone year one to remember!
